LABOUR’S TAX BOMBSHELL

This week’s pre-budget report is a disaster for Stockport’s families. It is full of tax cons, not tax cuts.  Labour has doubled the national debt to over £1trillion so anyone earning more than £20,000 will have to pay more tax. Leaked Treasury documents reveal there are secret plans to raise VAT if Labour get elected again.

Prospective Stockport MP Stephen Holland said, “This pre-budget report is not about helping the economy, it’s about helping Labour cling on to power.

Conservatives believe in real tax cuts not tax cons. So to help beat the recession in Stockport, we will:

• Freeze council tax for two years by cutting wasteful spending.
• Cut employment costs for small business through a National Insurance cut, and a tax break for new jobs.
• Get credit flowing by guaranteeing lending to business.”

STEPHEN HOLLAND SELECTED TO FIGHT STOCKPORT

Stockport Conservatives have chosen Stephen Holland to be their candidate at the next general election.

Stephen said, “It’s an honour to be selected to stand as Stockport’s prospective MP. I look forward to working to change Stockport for the better after the drift and failure of the Labour years.”

Conservative Group Leader on Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Councillor Les Jones, said, “Stephen is an experienced candidate who is the only credible alternative to Labour in Stockport. The Conservatives were second at the last general election and are in a prime position to beat Labour again.”
