My Expenses Pledge
If elected, I promise to:
• publish on my personal website details of all of my expenses incurred as your Member of Parliament
• never claim for food
• never claim for furniture or household goods
• never claim for cleaning or luxury items
• meet my own tax liabilities – such as stamp duty – and accountancy costs without claiming them from the taxpayer
• publish on my personal website details of all donations of more than £1,000 to either Stockport Conservative Association or to me, in line with Electoral Commission rules
• appoint a local firm of auditors in Stockport to approve my expenses accounts at the end of every financial year
• open up my unedited expenses claims to local newspapers at the end of every financial year
• have one main home in Stockport which I will pay for myself
Unlike Labour, David Cameron and the Conservatives have taken firm and decisive action over expenses.
